I was able to return home, but om modified bedrest, on friday. Yesterday had first doctor appointment and unwrapping of dressings to inspect site. Thank God the graft is almost completely taking hold! Healing is continuing at home. I can walk around and slowly increase use and range of motion but with lots of down time and elevation. So thankful to be home! Maureen started her daily nursing duties with dressing change this eve.

Skin graft update: did have a bleed through last night from the donor site. The nurses did a great job of reinforcing the dressing. He is on complete bedrest for 2 days to get the grafting to adhere a little before he goes home and even then he will be much more restricted on activity. We sure appreciate all who have been praying.

After a 2 hour surgery the harvesting of the donor site for the grafting is done. With only compression to keep that sizable area intact he will be down for a while. Thanks for the prayers on his behalf. He will be here st Bryan east for at least 24 hours maybe more.

Hey everyone. .. doc says “Go Home!” Bruce is really happy to be back at the Prairie Creek Inn and feeling pretty good ( napping to “Linus and Lucy” George Winston style). He would love to have visitors for the next 2-3 weeks until the final grafts. Thanks again for praying!

Bruce’s surgery went great. No new pockets of infection so Doc was able to add the ‘integra’layer. This is made from shark cartilage that produces cellular growth. He will continue on IV antibiotics through the weekend then possibility home by Tuesday until the final grafts. THANK YOU for all of you who have been praying!

Please pray that there is no new infection in the wound and the doctor can apply the next step in the healing process.

Doc said he had to remove a little more damaged tissue so he couldn’t go to the next step in the process but will have another surgery on Friday with the same objectives. Bruce had a little temp most of the later afternoon yesterday and pretty wiped out. Thanks again for praying!

Still waitng for the doctor’s report.

Pretty good day today!  Infection under control.  Ambulating well.  The next scheduled surgery is tomorrow at 10:30am, so I’m back off food and water again at midnight tonight.  I’ve had two decent nights of sleep and I’m feeling well, although tired.   Thank you all for your prayers.  I feel so encouraged and blessed.

The doctor finally came in.  Tissue is looking good for today.  No surgery today…..BUT supper!  Surgery is scheduled again for Wednesday.
