[DETAILS TO BE CONFIRMED LATER BY MAUREEN – ENTERED BY DAVE]
Maureen noticed the red area around Bruce’s wound, sore, whatever you want to call it …. was growing significantly. She called a nurse in to look and suggested a doctor be notified.
Several tests were ordered for the late afternoon and evening.
[DETAILS WILL BE ADDED AND CONFIRMED LATER BY MAUREEN – THIS POST ENTERED on 8/16 BY DAVE]
Bruce’s condition didn’t improve on Friday. The doctors still didn’t know what was causing his condition. Verle and Peggy visited in the morning, then continued to their camping trip. (Anyone around a couple of years ago through little brother Tom’s stroke will find a common theme here….)
[THIS WILL BE EDITED FOR ACCURACY LATER – THIS ENTERED BY DAVE 8/16]
Thursday morning, August 14th, Bruce called Maureen at school and let her know he was having some discomfort on the back of his leg and he wasn’t feeling well. She told him to go to the hospital, which he did. They sent Bruce to the emergency room, where his condition continued to decline. He’s probably lucky he made it to the hospital. By the time he got to a room, his nausea got the best of him.
Shortly thereafter, Maureen was able to come and join him in his room.
The doctors didn’t really know what was going on, but they didn’t think it was a spider bite.
Bruce’s condition didn’t improve, and he spent the day and night at the hospital.
